EDITORS REPORT
Total submissions to EJCTS & ICVTS increased from 1450 manuscripts in 2003 to 1661 in 2004 (an 14.5% increase). Despite the increased workload, the editorial office, the reviewers, and authors managed to reduce the average number of days from subsistence to acceptance from 92.9 days in 2003 to 81.7 days in 2004.
In June 2005, ISI announced an Impact Factor increase for EJCTS from 1.465 (2003) to 1.616 (2004) - the steady increase continues.
As from 1st January 2005, EACTS has commenced with self-publication of ICVTS, including a change of website - see: http://icvts.ctsnetjournals.org/. Despite a tighter production schedule (up from 4 issues per year to 6 issues per year), the manuscripts appeared on the web shortly after acceptance for a 28 day on-line discussion period, and the print issues were despatched on schedule in February, April and June. In addition, a supplement containing the abstracts for the ESCVS meeting in Athens was produced in May 2005.
