Mission Statement of the Postgraduate Education Committee

Within the framework and Constitution of the EACTS, the Postgraduate Education Committee has as its mission:

To provide permanent up-to-date scientific information and knowledge in the discipline of cardio-thoracicsurgery.
To stimulate research, innovation and progress in the field of cardio-thoracic surgery.
To strive for uniform education and training standards in all European countries and to offer equal opportunities to all European trainees and surgeons.
To promote friendship, reciprocal respect and optimal human relations amongcardio-thoracic surgeons in Europe.
To exchange information and ideas with other scientific organizations

This mission is fulfilled through activities such as the postgraduate courses and other scientific activities within the Annual Meeting, approved coursesoutside the Annual Meeting and theEuropean School for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (Bergamo).
