Mission Statement of the Thoracic Surgery Committee

1)    The Committee will oversee all aspects of General Thoracic Surgery (GTS) within EACTS.

2) will act as an advisory board to Council with regard to all thoracic issues.

3) will convene at the annual meetings of EACTS and at the same time as Council meetings of EACTS.

4)
will organise the scientific programme of the annual EACTS meetings. This will be conducted in collaboration with external organisations where appropriate. This includes:

i)     peer review of abstracts
ii)    planning of breakfast sessions at the annual meeting
iii)   p lanning of the GTS postgraduate courses in conjunction with the EACTS postgraduate         committee.
iv)     Active involvement in Techno-College.

will organise regular courses at basic level up to specialist master-classes. These will be planned with reference to the Educational Oversight Committee (Chair Manuel Antunes) and the Bergamo School Directors (Pieter Kappetein and Walter Klepetko).
