ANNUAL TECHNO-COLLEGE OF EACTS
Vienna, Austria
Saturday 11 October 2003
FOREWORD FROM THE PROGRAMME DIRECTOR
We have pleasure in announcing that this year's Techno-College, held under the auspices of the 2nd EACTS/ESTS Joint Meeting, will take place on Saturday 11 October at the Austria Center in Vienna. We would like to invite leading surgical companies to be part of the Techno-College and the various options for support are listed within this document.
This year's Techno-College will incorporate two separate one day conferences on Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery. The events will provide delegates with a comprehensive review of recent advances in :
experimental technology, under investigation or close to clinical application
innovative techniques, with live clinical demonstrations
the education of new techniques that are established in certain centres
The Programme will include presentations from invited speakers and a call for abstracts, which will be reviewed and selected by the New Technology Committee. There will be a total of seven live surgery sessions: one live stent-implantation, three thoracic and three minimally invasive cardiac procedures. A selection of the best papers will be presented during the live-sessions or via poster displays. ICVTS will be happy to publish any material from the meeting, subject to "peer review".
The EACTS Executive Secretariat will be handling the logistical arrangements for the event and I would therefore request that any application for sponsorship be returned to their office in Windsor, UK.
I hope that you will be able to support us at this year's Techno-College. Should you require any further information regarding the event please do not hesitate to contact either myself or the EACTS Executive Secretariat whose contact details can be found in this document.
