GENERAL AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION


Venue
The Techno-College will be held in Halls H and I (Level –1) of the Austria Center, Vienna.


Delegate Profile
It is anticipated that some 400 cardiac surgeons and some 200 thoracic surgeons  will attend the event including heads of department, junior doctors, medical students, nurses and technicians.  All European countries will be represented and it is expected that a large number of delegates will attend from outside Europe.  The event is open to surgeons, members of EACTS and ESTS and to non-members.

Shell Scheme/Optional Display Aids
Sponsorship packages include the cost of the booth space ONLY.  Should you wish to order shell scheme, carpeting, electrics or optional display aids, these must be ordered directly with the Austria Center.  Please note that carpeting of booth areas is compulsory.

It is the responsibility of exhibitors to provide partition walls between themselves and their neighbour's booth(s). 

Value Added Tax (VAT)
The Organisers are obliged to charge Value Added Tax (VAT) at the prevailing Austrian rate (presently 20%).  Sponsoring organisations must inform the EACTS Executive Secretariat of their correct VAT number so that it can be quoted on all invoices and subsequently reclaimed by the company concerned.  The Organisers are not authorised to re-issue VAT invoices after the event.

Technical Specifications
Height
Maximum height for all booths varies depending on final allocation but is between 2.2 and 2.5 metres

Floorloading
5 kN per m2  (exhibitors requiring a floor loading in excess of this amount should inform the Organisers)

Electrical Supply
Standard Single Phase = 230V/50 cycles; 3-Phase 400V/240V/50 cycles; 24 hr supply - by arrangement

Water and Waste; Compressed Air; Oily/Dirty Exhibits

Available to a limited number of booths.  Exhibitors requirinig such services should contact the Organisers

Special/Hazardous displays
Special displays, such as lasers, or potentially dangerous exhibits involving substances of an explosive or objectionable nature (including X-ray machines) must be approved by the Organisers in writing and may incur additional charges.

Catering, Audio Visual Equipment/Services, Furniture
Supplementary booth services such as catering, audio-visual equipment and furniture can be ordered from the Austria Center and their appointed suppliers.  The Executive Secretariat will provide further details regarding such services in their on-line Exhibitors Manual which will be made available to exhibitors upon confirmation of their stand area(s).

Signage
EACTS will produce all directional signage for the Techno-College.  Individual corporate signage, other than that contained within your booth/display area(s), will NOT be permitted.

Briefcase Inserts
Briefcase inserts  are available at a cost of €2,500 per A4 item inserted. Inserts are for 2nd EACTS /ESTS Joint Meeting  The deadline for receipt of such inserts (which MUST be approved by the Executive Secretariat in advance) is Friday 12th September 2003.  Should you wish to take advantage of this important marketing opportunity, please contact the Executive Secretariat Office for further details.

EACTS Logo
Companies may not use either the EACTS or ESTS logo in invitations and promotional documents without having sought prior written permission from the EACTS Executive Secretariat.

Registration
Registration will be available on-line via the EACTS website (www.eacts.org) from 28 March 2003.  Registration fees as follows:

Cardiac Programme including Luncheon sessions (08.00-18.00)
Early fee, before 12 July €250
Late fee, 13 July – 30 September €350
On site fee, applied from 30 September €400
Reduced fee for residents, nurses €50 and on-site fee €75
Thoracic Programme (13.00-18.00)  
Early fee, before 12 July €100
Late fee, 13 July – 30 September €150
On site fee, applied from 30 September  €200
Reduced fee for residents, nurses €50 and on-site fee €75

Companies, exclusively addressing general thoracic surgery, can be given a reduction upon request due to the shorter duration of the thoracic meeting.  Please note that there are NO lunchtime sessions in the Thoracic programme.

STS/AATS
The committee on New Technology collaborates closely with the Tech-Con Task Force of the STS and AATS as well as other leading authorities involved in the development of new devices for a revolutionized patient care.
