Jürgen Hörer


Jürgen Hörer is Head of the department of congenital heart disease at the Hospital Marie Lannelongue, Le Plessis-Robinson, France. Jürgen completed his residency in the department of cardiovascular surgery at the Deutsches Herzzentrum München, where he became a consultant for congenital heart surgery and from 2011-2015 Jürgen was Deputy Director, and appointed Associate Professor for cardiac surgery at the Technische Universität München.

Jürgen’s current research includes the following: Establishment and evaluation of scores for predicting mortality and morbidity following congenital heart surgery in adults; Evaluation of the functional status and the quality of life of patients following a classic Fontan operation and Evaluation of the treatment options for patients presenting with congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries.

Jürgen is a member of numerous organisations, including the European Association for Cardio-thoracic Surgery (EACTS), the European Congenital Heart Surgeons Association, the World Society for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery, the German Society for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery and the Collège Française de Chirurgie Thoracique et Cardio-Vasculaire.
