Mariann Pavone-Gyöngyösi

Mariann Pavone-Gyöngyösi, PhD, began as a physician and professor in internal medicine and cardiology at Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical University, Szeged, Hungary in 1995. She followed on to become Fellow at the Medical University of Vienna in 2002 and Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology in 2006. Postdoctoral Fellowships include Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Dept. of Cardiology, Frankfurt, Germany; Hungarian Eötvös Fellowship, Tempus Individual Mobility Grant; Pfeiffer Fellowship, Medical Univ. of Vienna, Dept. Cardiology, INSERM, Creteil, France; and Training and Research Fellowship of the European Society of Cardiology, Medical Univ. of Vienna. Mariann is currently associate professor at the Department of Cardiology, Medical University of Vienna, Austria, and vice president of the Experimental Working Group of the Austrian Society of Cardiology. Her research and clinical interest is in ischemic heart disease, interventional cardiology, cell- and gene-based therapy, heart failure.
