Adult cardiac database task force

The Adult Cardiac Database is an international registry and benchmarking tool, founded as part of the EACTS Quality Improvement Programme. The Adult Cardiac Database Task Force was established to provide leadership and integrated vision for working streams in quality improvement, advise on data software and collection and benchmarking outputs for hospitals in Europe.

BIOGRAPHY

Dr Edgar Daeter is a cardiothoracic surgeon at St. Antonius Hospital and is one of the founders of the "Meetbaar Beter (Measurably Better)” in the Netherlands, a doctor-driven and patient-focused initiative to transparently report patient outcomes and identify improvement potential between cardiac centers. This was a big success and merged into the NHR where Edgar was one of the board members. Edgar is also the Chair of Dutch Cardiothoracic Registry Commission that monitors outcomes of cardiac interventions in the Netherlands. Edgar has been appointed as the new Chair of the Quality Improvement Programme Committee at EACTS.

BIOGRAPHY

Omer Dzemali completed his medical degree in 2000 at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. He completed his residency training in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery 2006 at the Wolfgang Goethe University hospital in Frankfurt Main, Germany. After finishing his training, he obtained his venia legend for cardiac surgery and functions as lecturer at the University of Frankfurt

BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Sabrina Siregar graduated as a medical doctor in 2009 at the University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU). After her graduation she performed clinical work at the department of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery at the UMCU. In 2010 she started her research project on the outcomes of cardiac surgery in The Netherlands. This research project resulted in the thesis entitled "Safety in cardiac surgery", which led to a cum laude dissertation in 2013 at the University of Utrecht. During this period she also obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Utrecht. In 2014 she started her residency in Cardio-Thoracic Surgery at the Leiden University Medical Center. After her graduation as a cardio-thoracic surgeon in 2019, she continued her clinical work in Leiden. Her areas of interest are coronary artery bypass surgery and lung surgery. In addition, she continues to participate in national research projects regarding cardiac surgery risk scores and outcomes.
