Secretary General Appointment
We are delighted to announce that Rafael Sádaba has been appointed as EACTS’ Secretary General.

Rafa is a hugely experienced Cardiothoracic Surgeon. He is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Navarra and Head of Cardiovascular Research and Innovation at the Navarra Hospital Complex. His research interests have focused on the molecular and cellular basis of heart valve disease.

Rafa Sadaba, EACTS’ Secretary General said:

“The year ahead will see EACTS reconnecting with its members and we will continue to raise standards through education and training. By embracing new ways of learning and new technologies, we will aim to extend our reach to more surgeons worldwide. We look forward to seeing you – either virtually or in person – very soon.”

Since the beginning of the year, Rafa has been guiding the Association and bringing his energy to develop plans for the Annual Meeting. He will remain in the position until at least October.

We would like to thank Domenico Pagano for his service and dedication to EACTS. Domenico stepped down from his role as Secretary General earlier this year.

He has been our Secretary General since 2017 and, during this time, has enriched us all with his personality and approach. We all send Domenico our very best wishes for the future.

Techno College

EACTS’ Techno College has emerged as one of the leading meetings in cardiac surgery worldwide. This year’s programme provides in-depth reviews of current and future technologies, innovative methods and techniques in the field. We look forward to sharing more information on the day’s programme very soon.

Discounts are available for delegates booking both the hybrid Annual Meeting and Techno College sessions.
