Course Overview
The EACTS Fundamentals in Congenital Heart Disease course is the first step into the world of congenital and pediatric heart surgery. It will encompass surgical anatomy, physiology and principles of surgical and non-surgical treatment of congenital heart diseases for residents preparing for their EBCTS exams. Therefore, the focus will be on the basics and fundamentals of congenital heart disease which are being examined in the MEBCTS Level 1. Presentations will be given not only by congenital heart surgeons but also by paediatric cardiologists. Hence, pre-, intra- and postoperative management of various congenital heart defects will be discussed interactively and in exam style, to offer residents a sound exams’ preparation.

Skills Level 1 – Residents in training with the course content closely allied to the EBCTS syllabus.
