Meeting Overview
Minimal invasive cardiac surgery procedures are playing an increasingly important role in our speciality. However, knowledge transfer and methods to surmount the learning curve remain important roadblocks to widespread adaptation of these techniques. During the MITACS meeting, clinicians who want to acquire more skills in this rapidly increasing area will learn key aspects and vital skills of minimal invasive cardiac surgery procedures from an internationally recognised group of experts.

Meeting Format
Interactive lectures
Live surgical cases
Live-in-a-box videos

Meeting Fees
Members: €525 inclusive of VAT
Non-Members: €625 inclusive of VAT
Residents: €320 inclusive of VAT

Meeting fee includes lunch and refreshments on both days.

Learning Objectives

  • To learn the most important aspects of imaging, patient selection, anesthetic management and intraoperative set-up involved in minimal invasive cardiac surgery procedures
  • Gain extensive understanding of the key elements of minimal invasive heart valve (aortic, mitral and tricuspid) and coronary bypass surgery operations
  • Experience live local surgical broadcasts and instructive live-in-a-box demonstrations of both basic setup techniques and key technical elements of a successful minimal invasive cardiac procedure
  • Meet experts in the field and discuss important issues in your own development of a minimal invasive programme
