Course Overview
The course will cover the fundamental concepts of mitral valve repair for surgeons willing to introduce this programme in their own practice. Experienced lecturers from all parts of Europe will present a systematic overview of topics together with live-in-a-box surgical videos and interactive case studies. A transesophageal echo simulator and wet-lab stations will be available to allow the participants to practice “hands-on”.

Target Audience
Skills Level 2 – Residents in the final years of training and surgeons at the beginning of independent practice.

Learning Objectives
Through participation in this course you will learn basic as well as more advanced concepts of mitral valve repair, including indications, imaging tools, surgical techniques and potential pitfalls. Live in a box cases, transesophageal echo simulator and wet-lab will be extensively used to help understanding and practicing the fundamental skills through a very interactive approach.
