Aamir Amin
After graduating with an MBBS securing the highest honours at the university level, Mr Amin was felicitated as valedictorian and awarded the institutional gold medal. He is a nationally appointed resident in cardiothoracic surgery for the highly competitive specialty training program – having ranked among the top 10 candidates across the United Kingdom. Mr Amin completed foundation equivalent training in 2023 and was given the Shield of Excellence for outstanding academic achievement. He then received General Medical Council (GMC) registration with license to practice followed by full Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) of England. In 2024, he became the youngest recipient of the prestigious People’s Award under Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust. He also has an MSc in Medical Education from the University of Warwick and was awarded a fully funded position on the MIT executive program for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare. His primary interests include surgery for lung cancer, pleural diseases, thoracic endometriosis, emphysema, AI and wearable intraoperative technology – the latter of which includes the world’s first-ever application of upper body exoskeletons in cardiothoracic and transplant surgery. Mr Amin enjoys running marathons, visiting museums, traveling and can speak five languages fluently.
