Andrea Dell’Amore
Andrea Dell’Amore obtained his degree in medicine and surgery at the University of Bologna in 2001. He went on with his training in cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgery at the Department of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery of St. Antonius Hospital in Nieuwegein, the Netherlands for six months in 2004 and 2005. He became a cardiac surgery specialist at the Department of Cardiac Surgery of Sant Orsola-Malpighi University Hospital in Bologna in 2006. He worked as an assistant surgeon at the Department of Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery at the Villa Maria Cecilia Hospital Cotignola in Lugo, Italy from 2006 to 2010. He obtained a 2nd Level Master’s Degree in Oncological Thoracic Surgery at the Thoracic Surgery Unit of University of Turin in 2012. From 2012 to 2018 he worked as a 2nd Level Medical Director at the Thoracic Surgery Unit of the Sant Orsola Malpighi University Hospital in Bologna. He obtained a 2nd Level Master’s Degree in Robotic Thoracic Surgery at the Thoracic Surgery Unit of University of Pisa in 2016, followed by his thoracic surgery diploma with 70/70 honors at the University of Gabriele D’Annunzio of Chieti in 2018. From 2018 to 2020 he worked as a 2nd Level Medical Director at the Thoracic Surgery Unit of the University Hospital of Padua in Padua, Italy. Since 2020 he works as an associate professor at the UOC of Thoracic Surgery of the University Hospital of Padua, Department of Cardiothoracic Vascular Sciences and Public Health in Padua, Italy. In 2023 he has become the Director of the residency program in thoracic surgery and in 2025 he has become the Director of the OU of Thoracic Surgery and Lung Transplant at the same university. Apart from oncological surgery he routinely perfoms lun volume reduction surgery and lung transplantation on a regular basis.
