Antonio Mazzella

Dr Mazzella is a thoracic surgeon, Deputy Director of the Division of Thoracic Surgery at European Institute of Oncology in Milan, Italy. With over a decade of professional experience spent between France (Strasbourg and Paris) and Italy (IEO, Milan) in the management of thoracic neoplasms (including lung cancer, pleural and mediastinal tumors), he developed specialized expertise both in open and in minimally invasive techniques, particularly robotic surgery, for which he actually holds the role of official robotic proctor Da Vinci. He is principal investigator and co-investigator in several national and international projects concerning different treatments of lung cancer, mesothelioma and thymic malignancies. He has authored many papers in peer-reviewed international journals such and he also serves as editor and reviewer for several international high-impact journals. He is an active member of several international surgical societies, including EACTS.
