Emily Pann
Dr. Emily Pan is a cardiothoracic surgery resident based at the University of Helsinki, Finland. She earned her M.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Turku and completed a two-year postdoctoral research fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where she focused on the genetic mechanisms underlying aortic aneurysm development. Her clinical research centers on population-based studies related to secondary prevention therapies and surgical strategies for ascending aortic dissections. Clinically, her interests include aortic surgery, endovascular valve interventions, and thoracic oncology.
Dr. Pan has extensive experience in medical education and has served in various advocacy and organizational roles within academic and professional committees. She views the EACTS Residents’ Committee as a valuable platform to advance resident education and promote the well-being of cardiothoracic surgery trainees across Europe.
