Felix Dobritoiu
Dr. Felix Alexandru Dobrițoiu is a thoracic surgeon and Head of the Thoracic Surgery Department at Ponderas Academic Hospital, part of the Regina Maria Health Network in Bucharest, Romania. Since 2017, he has led the department’s development into one of the country’s foremost centers for minimally invasive thoracic surgery.
Dr. Dobrițoiu has extensive expertise in uniportal video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS), routinely performing complex pulmonary and mediastinal procedures, including pediatric uniportal lobectomies and mediastinal lesion resections. His practice emphasizes precision, minimal trauma, and accelerated patient recovery.
In 2022, Dr. Dobrițoiu introduced robot-assisted thoracic surgery at Ponderas Academic Hospital, where he currently serves as a proctor and trainer in robotic thoracic techniques. He is actively involved in organizing and delivering training courses for residents and medical students, contributing to the dissemination of advanced minimally invasive surgical practices in Romania.
Through his clinical leadership and educational engagement, Dr. Dobrițoiu has played a pivotal role in establishing modern thoracic surgery standards nationally and in integrating robotic platforms into complex thoracic procedures.
