Sara Ranchordás

Dr Sara Ranchordás is a consultant cardiac surgeon at Hospital de Santa Cruz, Lisbon, under the direction of Marta Marques, MD. She is the coordinator of the Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit. She completed the Francis Fontan Fund Advanced Intensive Postoperative Care Fellowship at Hospital Clínic Barcelona in 2023. Dr Ranchordás is actively involved in surgical education, serving as examiner for the European Board of Cardiothoracic Surgery, coordinating the cardiac surgery fellowship for cardiology residents in her centre, and teaching at NOVA Medical School. She introduced the Cardiac Advanced Life Support course in Portugal and is currently the contact person for the Francis Fontan Fund Off-Pump CABG (OPCAB) Fellowship. Her main clinical interests include adult cardiac surgery, particularly OPCAB, hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy surgery, heart transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support.
