Sven Peterss

Sven Peterss is an associate professor of cardiac surgery, head of the aortic diseases research group and executive senior cardiac surgeon at the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the Ludwig Maximilian University Munich, Germany. He received his MD from the Hannover Medical School and was trained in cardiac surgery in Kiel, Hannover and Munich. He spent a 2-year fellowship at the Aortic Institute at Yale-New Haven Hospital, Ct, USA, working on natural history and genetic backgrounds of hereditary non-syndromic aortic diseases. His scientific focusses are precision medicine in aortic diseases including molecular and genetic pathways, natural history, cerebral and visceral protection strategies, and development of new (zone 0 FET) and innovative (electro spinning) vascular prostheses.
