Our EACTS Community

Most EACTS members are naturally surgeons but EACTS membership is open to everyone within the global cardiothoracic community, including medical students, residents, nurses and allied health professionals, industry representatives.

How to Become a Member

Applying online is quick and easy. Don’t have an account? Create one in just a few minutes. Please read the below guidance and have your payment method to hand. If you are applying for Pre-Trainee or Resident/Trainee Membership please ensure that you have the end date of your training. Support from existing members is not required.

  • Application process Applications are managed via your EACTS online account. Please note that your application is not considered complete until you have made the payment for your membership subscription. Once your payment has been completed your status will change from “In progress” to “Applicant”. Trainee applicants are reminded that to apply for the Trainee membership fee a letter from the head of the department that states that the applicant is in training is necessary. Please upload this letter to your account. Your application is not considered complete until this letter has been uploaded and only after this letter has been acknowledged/reviewed by the association.
  • What happens next? The EACTS Secretariat will collate all applications. All online applications are completed on 1 July, and members to be elected, will be presented at the General Assembly at the EACTS Annual Meeting for approval by all members. An applicant does not become a full member of EACTS until after the Annual Meeting. With the applicant status, you will automatically qualify for member-reduced fees for EACTS Academy courses. Annual Meeting: to qualify for member-reduced fees for the Annual Meeting, your application needs to be complete by 1 July.
