Alison Duncan

Dr Alison Duncan (MB BS BSc PhD FRCP) is Associate Specialist in Cardiology and Transcatheter Valve Therapies at The Royal Brompton Hospital, London, UK. She has over 20 years’ experience in clinical transthoracic (TTE), transoesophageal (TOE), stress, and 3D echocardiography, has full BSE and European Accreditation in TTE and TOE, was awarded a PhD from Imperial College London in “Physiological Stress Echo and Heart Failure” in 2004, and was the Clinical Lead of RBH Echocardiography Department 2007-2011.

Dr. Duncan has been part of the original RBH TAVI team since its beginning in 2007. As well as taking part in over 1200 TAVI procedures, she is the Lead Interventional Echocardiographer for novel transcatheter mitral and tricuspid interventions, has guided over 300 MitraClip procedures, 30 transcatheter mitral valve implantations with the Tendyne Device (including the first-in-man), 35 transcatheter mitral neochordal procedures, numerous valve-in-valve procedures, and initiated a new programme of TriClip.

Dr. Duncan is a Faculty member of the British Cardiovasular Society, London PCR Valve Therapies, Transcatheter Mitral Valve Interventions (UK and Ireland), and CSI Frankfurt. She is UK Chief Investigator for both Tendyne Global Feasibility Study and Transcatheter Mitral Intervention with Harpoon, and is UK Principal Investigator for Medtronic APOLLO Trial. Dr. Duncan is an invited lecturer at over 100 national and international meetings, and has over 100 original articles in peer-reviewed journals including Circulation, EuroIntervention, Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, JACC, Circulation, International Journal of Cardiology, European Journal of Heart Failure, Annuals of Thoracic Surgery, European Journal of Echocardiography, American Journal of Cardiology, American Heart Journal, and Heart.
