Mr Anthony Charles De Souza is a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London with a major interest in minimally invasive surgery including off-pump beating heart and robotic assisted coronary artery bypass surgery. He performed the first endoscopic Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) in UK in June 2000 and continues to promote endoscopic atraumatic CAB (endoacab). He other areas of interest include mitral valve surgery, thoracoscopic AF ablation and teaching. He is a Director on the Board of the International Society of Minimally Invasive Surgery (ISMICS) and National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE), and is now the President of the British & Irish Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (BISMICS).
