Christian Hagl

Prof. Hagl graduated in 1995 as a medical doctor at the University of Heidelberg. He was trained in Kiel University and Hannover Medical School and spent a 2- year research fellow ship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. In 2004 he graduated as a cardiac surgeon and received a certificate for emergency medicine.

He is an expert in Aortic Surgery as well as surgical treatment of Terminal Heart Failure. Currently, he is full professor at the Ludwig-Maximilian-University, Munich and Head of the Department of Cardiac Surgery.  His areas of interest are complex aortic surgery, heart valve surgery, heart and lung transplantation as well as mechanical circulatory devices.
