John Elefteriades

John Elefteriades is the William Glenn Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Director at the Aortic Institute, Yale University. He received his MD and completed medical training at Yale, he then joined the faculty and rapidly rose to Professor and Chief. He received an Honorary PhD from the University of Liege, Belgium for contributions to the diagnosis and treatment of thoracic aortic aneurysm disease.

Dr. Elefteriades performs all types of adult cardiac surgery, including over 300 heart transplants and thousands of operations on the thoracic aorta. He has served on the Board of Governors of the American College of Cardiology. He has authored more than 350 scientific articles and 100 chapters and 10 books and is Editor-in-Chief of the journal AORTA. He is a frequently requested international lecturer, visiting professor and guest surgeon. He has been named consistently in The Best Doctors in America. He was selected as one of the ten best doctors in America by Men’s Health magazine. In 2007 he received the Walter Bleifeld Memorial Award for Clinical Research.
