Julie Cleuziou

Julie Cleuziou attended medical school in Aachen, Germany and started her residency in cardiac surgery at the Heart Centre Wuppertal. After gaining basic knowledge in cardiac surgery and intensive care medicine, she took a senior house officer post in Oxford, UK and worked there for a year with Stephen Westaby. After that, she spent 1,5 years with Marc de Leval at the Harley Street Clinic in London, UK as his surgical assistant focussing on Congenital Heart Surgery . She completed her residency in cardiac surgery at the German Heart Centre Munich under the supervision of Christian Schreiber. In 2018 a new department for Congenital Heart Surgery and Paediatric Heart Surgery was founded within the German Heart Centre with Jürgen Hörer as Director. Currently, she is Deputy Director of this department. Her special interests are the Ebstein anomaly, valve reconstruction methods and the arterial switch operation.
