Marek Jasinski

Marek Jasinski is Full and Ordinary Professor at Wroclaw Medical University, and Chief and Chair of Cardiac Surgery. Marek graduated from Silesian Medical University and begun residency in cardiac surgery in 1990. He went through specialist registrar training between 1996 and 2000, and was granted fellowship of EBCTS (FETCS) in 1998 in Brussels. Other training includes Cleveland Clinic Foundation USA under Prof Delos Cosgrove III and Prof Frank Sabik III, Saint Luck Hospital, Brussels under Prof Gebrine El- Khoury and Sequoia Hospital Redwood City, Stanford University, California, under Vincent Gaudiani. Marek has been involved in many aspects of reconstructive surgery (both paediatric and adult), including aortic surgery with record of more than 400 stentless implantation and 450 aortic valve repair and valve sparing operations, with results presented worldwide. He has largely dedicated himself to many educational programmes in Poland, acting as postgraduate education programme and resident programme coordinator within the Polish Society of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeons.
