Peter Ivak

Peter Ivak, MD, Ph.D. is a Cardiac Surgeon at the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) in Prague, Czech Republic. He received his Cardiovascular surgery training at IKEM Prague. Currently, he serves as a Vice-Chair for Science and Research at Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at IKEM Prague. He is focused on mechanical circulatory support for more than 10 years and participates in performance of a wide spectrum of VAD procedures. Fields of mechanical circulatory support and heart transplant are one his primary areas of clinical and research interests. He has published a number of publications focused on MCS, especially in areas of hemocompatibility, anticoagulation and also basic science in this field. He currently takes part in local and international research studies in the field.
