Vaios Kaminiotis

Vaios Kaminiotis graduated as a Medical Doctor from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2010. He was awarded a PhD in 2017 by the same university for his research on the effects of colchicine on atherosclerotic lesions in cholesterol-fed rabbits. In addition to his medical degree, he holds two Master’s degrees: one in Minimally Invasive Surgery, Robotic Surgery, and Telesurgery (2016) and another in Healthcare Management (2021).

Following the completion of his residency in cardiothoracic surgery, Vaios underwent advanced training in complex aortic surgery, the Ross procedure, aortic and mitral valve repair, AF surgery, as well as minimally invasive and endoscopic cardiac surgery at Derriford Hospital and Harefield Hospital.

He recently completed his role as Senior Clinical Fellow in Cardiac Surgery at Harefield Hospital and has been awarded the National Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Transplantation at the same institution. His interests include minimally invasive coronary and valve surgery, complex aortic surgery, and cardiopulmonary transplantation, with a focus on the surgical management of heart and lung failure.
