Volker Lauenroth completed his nursing degree in Lutherstadt Eisleben in 2000. In 2006, he completed a specialist nursing degree in intensive care and anaesthesia in Bielefeld. After his specialist training, he switched to VAD coordination at the Heart and Diabetes Centre, NRW Bad Oeynhausen of the Ruhr University Bochum. He is currently head of the VAD coordination. His areas of interest are MCS, wound management and heart failure.
