Alina Gallo
Alina Gallo is a Cardiac Surgeon at the SS. Antonio e Biagio e Cesare Arrigo Hospital in Alessandria (Italy), where she also leads the Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery Program.
She graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Genoa (Italy) and completed her residency in Cardiac Surgery at IRCCS San Martino Hospital and the Giannina Gaslini Pediatric Hospital in Genoa. She pursued advanced clinical and research fellowships in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford (UK), under the mentorship of Professor Stephen Westaby. Her international training includes Hospital José Eleuterio González in Monterrey (Mexico), Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, California (USA), Clinique Universitaire Saint-Luc Hospital in Brussels (Belgium), and Saarland University Hospital in Homburg (Germany).
Alina Gallo has held teaching appointments at the University of Eastern Piedmont “Amedeo Avogadro,” contributing to postgraduate education in emergency and critical care medicine. She has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and contributed chapters to internationally recognized surgical textbooks. She received the Francis Fontan Fellowship in 2019 and currently serves on the Fund’s advisory committee. She is an active member of EACTS, SICCH, and the alDOCch initiative.”
