Sustainability at the 38th EACTS Annual Meeting
Sustainability is a top priority for us. We are taking steps to minimise our carbon footprint, and we are proud to share details of our eco-friendly initiatives. These include:
To minimise paper usage and reduce waste, we have digitalised our programmes and abstracts.
Our catering partners all use reusable tableware, organically sourced food and have recycling waste management plans in place to minimise waste.
The Lisbon Congress Centre is working hard to reduce the quantities of non-renewable energy from year to year. According to 2022 data available from ENDESA, CCL has reached approximately 30% of renewable energy.
The Lisbon Congress Centre re-uses materials, whenever is possible, and uses recycled materials and products for graphic production, signage, decoration and promotional gifts. The venue chooses to work directly with local suppliers and agencies to support the local community and economy and reduce the environmental impact.
Due to its close location to main city attractions, the surroundings have also been prepared to use more eco-friendly individual transport such as rented bikes and scooters, for which the venue has exclusive parking for more eco-friendly individual transports. The use of train, metro and bus are also actively promoted.
