Josef Stehlik, MD, MPH is Christi T. Smith Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He is Co-Chief of the Advanced Heart Failure section and Medical Director of the Heart Transplant Program at the University of Utah Health Center and the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center.
Dr. Stehlik has been active in clinical work, research and education. He has received extramural research funding in the areas of heart failure, heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support from the American Heart Association, the Veterans Health Administration, the Veterans Affairs Center for Innovation, the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation and other funding agencies. From 2012 to 2022 he has served as Director of the International Thoracic Organ Transplant Registry of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation. He is author of over 250 peer-reviewed publications and a number of book chapters.
