Mahmoud Abdelaziz

Mr Mahmoud Abdelaziz is a consultant cardiac surgery at the Heart and Lung centre in New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton. He graduated from the University of Southampton and after 2 years of general surgical program, joined the cardiothoracic national training scheme in 2011 in the West Midlands. Towards the end of his training he joined a large tertiary cardiac unit in Malaysia for a year to gain experience in mitral valve surgery as well as aortic valve procedures. He returned to the UK to complete and receive his specialised certificate of training in the national cardiothoracic surgical program.

Mr Abdelaziz is a member of the aortic team within the New Cross Hospital Heart and Lung Centre department and has recently embarked on minimal access cardiac surgery. He is a member of the West Midlands surgical training faculty and the local educational supervisor for cardiac surgical trainees within the West Midlands.
